As an SME I don’t need 30 placements, can I still be a part of the Kickstart scheme?
Yes, however you will need to work with a gateway organisation like The Growth Company, who will support you with collating information and make the application to DWP on your behalf.
I have someone in mind for a role, can I recruit my own Kickstarter?
No, all candidates will be sourced via Job Centre Plus. However, you will be able to interview candidates to make sure they are the best fit for your business.
When can Kickstart placements begin?
Placements are expected to begin from early November. It can take several weeks to set up a placement, so getting your application in early is vital.
When will I receive the £1,500 Kickstart Fund payment?
The fund is paid to your gateway organisation on day one, and they will arrange payment to your business.
Can I pay my Kickstart candidate above the National Minimum Wage?
Yes, but this will be at cost to you. DWP only fund to the National Minimum Wage.
